At Arbors Memory Care Community , we believe that activities must be offered in wide variety and should be engaging and enjoyable. Our activities include programming that encourages group participation, inspires individual creativity and facilitates physical and mental stimulation every day. Our resident activity program is designed and created with the resident’s interests and abilities in mind.
It is often while engaged in well-designed activities that residents truly reach out to others. Great friendships emerge from discovering that other residents share the same interests. Personalities emerge in the Moments of Memory art class where artists share afternoons joking and visiting with each other as they paint. Musical entertainers are especially beneficial in creating an atmosphere of fun, participation and feelings of well-being. Residents identify with many golden oldies and find enjoyment in the festive atmosphere. Many residents experience the joy of dancing during musical events, some for the first time.
Exercises, both physical and mental, become a regular part of residents’ daily life contributing a great deal to the residents’ overall wellbeing. The therapeutic environment improves resident health, boosting self-esteem, confidence, self-expression and a real sense of independence.
Our dedication to quality activities is evidenced by having two Activities staff. This means we have guided activities seven days a week and often have both directors on site at the same time for twice the number of activities.
Our staff is highly trained to give any assistance that a resident may want or need, while always focusing on fostering independence. We believe that maximum independence is achieved by our residents by providing for a sense of accomplishment and daily satisfaction.
