The Nevada Caregiver Coalition is presenting the 8th annual Linda Carr Caregiver Awards on November 19th. We’re very proud of the fact that an employee of Arbors Memory Care Community has won the In-Facility Caregiver Award for the past two years. We would encourage anyone who believes one of our caregivers truly goes above and beyond every day to nominate him or her for the award this year. Or perhaps you know another caregiver who cares for someone at home or who cares for a family member who may be deserving of a nomination.
These awards not only recognize exceptional caregivers, but they also create public awareness of the important roles caregivers play in the lives of the frail disabled and mentally challenged of all ages. This annual recognition luncheon is a wonderful occasion to honor these quiet heroes.
The six award categories are:
- Family Caregiver
- In-home paid caregiver
- In-facility caregiver (includes adult day programs)
- Volunteer Hospice or Community Caregiver
- Caregiver for Youth with Special Needs (22 years or younger)
- Double Life Caregiver (employee and primary unpaid caregiver)
All of the nominees will be recognized and honored at the luncheon. A slide show presenting all of the nominees will be part of the celebration. One nominee from each category, as determined by the Awards Selection Committee, based on the nomination narratives, will receive a cash award and a special certificate of recognition.
